What I am Most Thankful For
November 27, 2023Planning Ahead
January 10, 2024Events by Rosanne has had the opportunity to decorate for a Local Life Enriching Community. They asked for help transforming their large meeting space that includes round tables with chairs and a stage, into a Christmas-Themed Event. Twenty tables needed centerpieces. The stage was a blank slate. Favor bags were a must and picture opportunities were appreciated. The community provided food and entertainment.
Last Christmas the theme was whimsical and cheery with candy cane colors and gingerbread houses and Santa themed cookie jars used as centerpieces. For the stage and the favors were dressed in candy cane boxes and placed at every place with a napkin being held together with a red ribbon, a sprig of greenery and a fresh candy cane with a Christmas greeting attached. Backdrops were included to add to this theme with a candy storefront and a gingerbread house for the guests.
This Christmas we wanted a totally different look, so we chose White Christmas, the 1954 classic Christmas movie. We used white wreaths and snowflake napkin rings at every table. We added Christmas trees and a life-sized picture of the characters from the White Christmas movie to the stage as well as a backdrop reminiscent of the last scene of the movie with barn doors being opened to a snowy outdoor scene. The theme was carried through with using barn doors for the guest photo backdrop. The treat bags were placed on each seat using Santa suit bags just like the clothes Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye’s characters were wearing.
Guessing Games are fun for this crowd, so we played Guess how many snowballs using different sized marshmallows. This was at the welcome table when they arrived surrounded by movie quotes and pictures. The theme was carried all around the room. The crowd enjoyed a nice meal and entertainment, ending the night singing along to the song “White Christmas”. Memories were made and now we are all waiting to see if we will have a White Christmas this year!
Merry Christmas!
